Connoquenessing Borough Council approved Resolution 2026-05 on April 7, 2026, authorizing the borough to submit a grant application to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to complete a local trail and install a waterless bathroom. The motion to approve the resolution was made by Council member Ryan Curtin and seconded by Council member Kelly Barton; the motion passed.
The council recorded that the DCNR grant would fund completion of a trail and a waterless restroom facility. Council members said the Park Committee will handle contractor selection for related park work, while the borough continued to discuss a separate DCED grant opportunity for playground improvements and a waterless bathroom. The secretary noted that a scope video for a separate Hidden Springs adoption matter had not been sent to the borough engineer and that the secretary would continue outreach to the engineer and property owner.
Approving the DCNR resolution advances the borough toward applying for state funding; the council did not record a vote tally in the minutes beyond recording the motion, second and that it passed. The Park Committee and borough staff will manage next steps for grant application details and contractor procurement.
