Pike County commissioners approve routine motions, payments and appointments

The Pike County Board of Commissioners used its May 6 meeting to complete routine business, approving the agenda and prior minutes and clearing several payments, personnel actions and appointments.
The board approved county bills from the general fund totaling $749,999.80, a hazardous materials fund payment of $69,157.71 and a bridge/repair payment of $44,591.07. Commissioners acknowledged a letter from the president judge concerning Allison Walsh, effective June 1, 2026, on an as-needed basis for fewer than 1,000 hours per year. The salary board convened and set an hourly rate of $33.04 for Lisonbee Walsh as a part-time employee effective June 1, 2026.
The commission opened multiple bids for groceries and frozen food for the county correctional facility; after reading bid totals the board moved to hold award decisions while the correctional facility staff reviews the bids to determine best value. Separately, the board recommended awarding the Pike County Jail UV disinfection replacement project to TAM Enterprises for $20,840; that recommendation was seconded and approved.
In new business, the board approved a $5,130 share housing fair grant; human services payment vouchers totaling $6,966.24 (breakdown: $1,794.94 and $5,171.30); an $11,168 affordable housing fund payment payable to Delaware Run Associates; and executed the Pike County bridal assistance annual recertification contract (contract no. 51). The board also recommended appointment of Matthew and Mosterberg to represent the county on the Northeastern Pennsylvania Metropolitan Planning Organization board and appointed Michael Murzynski as an at-large representative; both motions were approved.
All votes recorded in the meeting were taken by voice and motions were seconded. No contested roll-call votes were recorded in the transcript.
