The Vernon County Board of Health voted on April 8 to add an awarded vaccine grant to the department’s budget, approving the budget amendment by unanimous voice vote.
Dr. Duane Koons moved to accept the vaccine award into the budget; Frank Easterday seconded and the motion carried with "all ayes." The meeting record notes March voucher payments of $3,837.84 and March public-health expenditures of $23,233.95, which the minutes state represent about 20% of the annual budget.
Board members also approved the minutes from the March 11, 2026 meeting after a motion by Lonnie Muller and a second from Easterday; that motion passed by unanimous voice vote. The board later approved an updated Animal Bite Order policy by the same unanimous voice-vote process after a motion from Muller and a second by Dr. Duane Koons.
The board confirmed its next regular meeting for May 13, 2026 and adjourned at 1:35 p.m. The minutes list board members present as David Eggen, Martha Olson, Frank Easterday, Dr. Martin Erlandson, Lonnie Muller, Dr. Duane Koons and Rhonda Peterson.
