Parks committee advances Liberty Bell Trail work, approves Whites Road pool change order and reports Stoney Creek cleanup

Councilman Bridal said the borough will move to award Phase 3 of the Liberty Bell Trail (Moyers Road to Wedgwood) to the lowest responsible bidder with PennDOT contributing additional funding to reduce the borough’s net cost. He said the council will see the contract at the business meeting and that a notice to proceed could come in July.
Bridal moved Change Order No. 1 for the Whites Road pool renovation to add a lighting package in the amount of $53,797.03; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. "This is a change order for the White Road Pool renovation project in the amount of $53,797.03," Bridal said during the committee meeting.
On Stoney Creek Park, Bridal described outreach by Access Services to individuals camping in the back-of-park area. Access Services connected residents with services and relocation options; SERVPRO and the borough’s insurance vendor (Divot) completed a cleanup and repair of impacted areas. Bridal said total cleanup costs were just under $10,000 and the borough paid a deductible under $1,000 to cover the work. The parks department has posted temporary signage and will install permanent park-hour signs; police will assist with enforcement of park hours.
Bridal also provided updates on the Whites Road Park courts (preliminary cost indications around $130,000 for replacement) and said the pool delay means the 4th Street pool will open on time and may have extended hours to offset capacity needs.
The committee will return final contract documents and timeline details to full council for formal approvals.
