Nashville council approves March bills, festival and three appointments

At the start of the meeting President Mike Kenyon called the session to order at 7:00 p.m. A motion by Councilmember Bonnie White, supported by Rick Argo, approved the meeting agenda. Councilmember Lori Courtney moved, seconded by Sherry Hummel, to approve the Feb. 26 minutes; the motion carried unanimously with Johnny Hartwell recorded as absent.
The council reviewed a list of bills totaling $57,913.16. White moved and Courtney seconded a motion to pay the bills and draw orders on the treasurer; the measure passed on a roll-call vote with all present voting aye.
The council unanimously authorized the 66 Unique Antiques Festival to hold its annual event on May 2, 2026. Courtney asked that food trucks be positioned away from the village restaurants; the council adopted the festival request as presented.
The council made three appointments. Courtney moved and Argo supported naming Johnny Hartwell pro-tem. Courtney then moved, and White seconded, the appointment of Josh Pierce as Director of Public Works; the council approved both motions. Sherry Hummel moved and Courtney seconded appointing Sandra Lundquist to the Cemetery Board; that motion also carried.
The meeting adjourned at 8:18 p.m.
