Councilors on May 14 approved two capital items: parking‑lot and landscaping improvements at the annex property, and replacement of damaged fence segments at Tequesta Park.
Public works presented a scope of work for the annex parking lot that includes pothole and trench repair, milling and paving, striping, concrete parking stops, landscape plantings and irrigation pump replacement, estimated at $52,500. The amount is not in the current budget and will require a budget transfer or use of unassigned fund balance; staff said they expect to absorb the cost or identify savings elsewhere in the year.
Parks director Greg Corbett presented three bids to replace chain‑link fence and repair gates at Tequesta Park (projected cost $39,758). Council debated whether to proceed with the lower‑cost vinyl chain‑link replacement for the sections quoted or wait for more aesthetic options for the park entrance (PVC or decorative fencing). Council approved the chain‑link replacement for the quoted sections by majority vote, with one member opposed, and requested additional quotes for a higher‑quality entrance fence to align with the park's long‑term master plan.
