The Village Council adopted the 10‑year Water Supply Facilities Work Plan on second reading and authorized a $39,650 work order with Holtz Consulting Engineers to prepare a water facilities plan addressing emerging contaminants, including PFAS.
Community development director Jay Huff presented the water supply work plan (Ordinance O‑226), which staff prepared in‑house to avoid a consultant fee. Council approved the plan on second reading without public comment. Utilities director Allison Berg summarized several water‑system items: draft water treatment master plan under review, on‑going water‑main replacement and road‑impact coordination with Palm Beach County, a recent main break affecting about 60 residents, and the village’s first settlement disbursement from the Tyco BASF PFAS settlement ($347,571).
Berg asked council to authorize Holtz to prepare a facilities plan required by FDEP before the village can apply for emerging‑contaminant SRF funding (a program that can include principal loan forgiveness). Holtz’s fee of $39,650 was not budgeted; council approved using part of the PFAS settlement disbursement to cover the cost so the village can be positioned to apply for funding when the State’s program reopens.
