Lake Local accepts donation and approves multiple resignations and supplemental coaching contracts

At its Feb. 23 meeting the Lake Local Board of Education unanimously accepted a $350 donation from the Uniontown Lions Club to benefit the Lake Elementary Blue Streak Buddies program.
The board also accepted a slate of personnel actions. Certified resignations accepted as presented include Jennifer Obourn (teacher, retirement effective May 29, 2026), Cheri Napholz (teacher, retirement effective July 31, 2026), and Rhonda Stallings (intervention specialist, retirement effective May 29, 2026). Non-certified retirements accepted included Lisa Begue (aide, effective Feb. 28, 2026), Mary Colella (secretary, effective June 19, 2026) and Julianne Reed (bus driver and aide, effective May 29, 2026). The board also accepted a supplemental resignation from Cary Wade (permanent substitute—certified staff), effective Feb. 20, 2026.
The board approved a long roster of one-year supplemental contracts for the 2025–26 school year for athletics roles including varsity and JV assistant coaches in softball, baseball, track, lacrosse, tennis and volunteer community coaches. Approval was contingent on compliance with negotiated agreements, board policy and submission of required credentials. Member Barrett moved approval of items b–e (personnel and supplementals); Member Doane seconded and the motions were approved unanimously.
The minutes list the individuals and assigned supplemental positions but do not include annual stipend amounts or background detail on length of service. The board did not receive public comment on personnel items during the meeting.
