The Lake Local Board of Education unanimously adopted an updated financial forecast and approved related budget adjustments at its Feb. 23, 2026 regular meeting.
The Treasurer told the board the district must file the updated forecast with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and the Auditor of State by Feb. 28, 2026. The board voted to adopt the forecast “based upon the assumptions presented,” moving to ensure compliance with the state filing requirement.
In the same session the board approved amendments to estimated receipts and appropriations and accepted the January 2026 financial report and Then and Now certifications. Member Barrett moved to adopt the forecast and Member Nabors seconded; both motions passed on unanimous roll-call votes. Member Cain moved approval of the minutes from the Jan. 12 organizational and regular meetings; Member Doane seconded and the minutes were approved.
The actions leave the district positioned to meet the Feb. 28 forecast filing deadline and to proceed with the appropriations changes presented by the Treasurer. No additional details on the specific forecast assumptions or dollar-line changes were included in the minutes beyond the board’s formal motions and unanimous votes.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 16, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Lake Elementary School.
