Imperial City Planning Commission appoints Winkler as chair, Curiel as vice chair; consent minutes approved

The Imperial City Planning Commission on May 13 approved its consent agenda, including minutes for March 11 and April 22, and reorganized its leadership by appointing Miss Winkler as chairperson and Commissioner Curiel as vice chairperson.
A motion to approve the minutes was made and carried during the consent agenda. Later in the meeting the commission opened agenda item D2 to fill two leadership positions. The chair moved to appoint Miss Winkler as chair (seconded), and the commission recorded a roll call vote with Commissioners Duarte, Rosales Trujillo and Carrillo voting yes; the motion carried 3-0.
The commission then moved to appoint Commissioner Curiel as vice chair; that motion was seconded and carried by the same recorded 3-0 vote. The clerk noted that Vice Chairperson Winkler had been recorded absent at the initial roll call earlier in the meeting. The appointments take effect immediately and staff was directed to update commission records.
The meeting also included brief staff reports, including notice that the city is organizing public workshops on an environmental justice element tentatively scheduled for June 6 and June 16.
