Representatives of the Envision Group told the McDonald County Commission on Oct. 2 that they are seeking guidance on how to request a turn lane at the intersection of I-49 and Highway 90. Joe Brooks and Flo Sanchez asked the commissioners for information on the appropriate process and contacts.
The Commission directed Mr. Brooks to contact the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) directly and to reach out to State Representative Dirk Deaton for assistance. Al Drinkwater joined the meeting by phone during the discussion.
No formal motion or vote on county action was recorded in the minutes; the Commission’s recorded response was guidance to pursue the state transportation authority and the state representative for next steps. The matter was discussed but not acted on by the Commission at the Oct. 2 meeting.
