McDonald County lifts temporary burn ban after rain reduces drought risk

Presiding Commissioner Bryan Hall and the other commissioners voted in favor, and the motion carried.
The ban had been placed on Oct. 7, 2024, during drier conditions. The commission did not specify additional restrictions or next monitoring steps in the minutes; officials said they would continue to monitor weather and drought indicators. The meeting record notes the commission will reconvene on Nov. 6, 2024.
