McDonald County commissioners approve payables and payroll, open surplus bids and authorize $364,000 in transfers

The McDonald County Commission on Dec. 23 approved $184,960.77 in accounts payable and $393,897.06 in payroll, opened bids for the county's 2024 surplus sale and authorized transfers of $300,000 to the Law Enforcement Fund and $64,000 to the Local Emergency Planning Commission Fund.
The actions were recorded in the minutes filed for the meeting. County Clerk Jessica Cole recorded that Presiding Commissioner Bryan Hall, Eastern Commissioner Jamey Cope and Western Commissioner Rick Lett were present.
At 11:16 a.m. commissioners opened bids from the surplus sale of county vehicles and equipment. Commissioners said they will review each bid and publish a list of accepted bidders to be contacted at the next commission meeting.
Commissioner Bryan Hall moved to accept the highest bids on all surplus items with the 1994 Ford dump truck excluded; Commissioner Rick Lett seconded the motion. The minutes state the motion carried with all in favor.
Commissioner Rick Lett then moved, and Commissioner Bryan Hall seconded, a motion to issue a court order requiring Treasurer Fuller to transfer $300,000 from General Revenue into the Law Enforcement Fund and $64,000 from General Revenue into the Local Emergency Planning Commission Fund effective that day. The minutes record the motion as passed unanimously.
