Presiding Commissioner Bryan Hall announced the bid opening at 1:06 p.m., saying the county received two proposals. Precision Paving submitted the lower bid at $316,156; Stewarts Asphalt Paving submitted a bid of $426,546. Commissioners did not move to award the contract and instead tabled the matter for later consideration so they could thoroughly examine the bids.
The bid packet attached to the minutes also included submissions for tires and other roadway materials, but commissioners made no procurement decisions at the meeting. The county recorded that no bids were received for road/asphalt oil.
Next steps indicated in the minutes are internal review of the chip-seal bids and return of the item to a future commission agenda for formal action.
