McDonald County Commission approves $26,001.53 tax-sale refund and rolls over five CDs at 4.4%

The McDonald County Commission on June 18 voted to approve a $26,001.53 refund to Fixnix, LLC (Glenda K. Crose) for an overbid in the 2024 back tax sale and to roll over five county Certificates of Deposit at a 4.4% six-month rate.
County Treasurer Fuller presented both items to the commission. The refund request was described as falling under Missouri statute RSMo 139.380, the provision cited in the minutes for overbid refunds. Commissioner Jamey Cope moved to approve the refund; Commissioner Rick Lett seconded. With Presiding Commissioner Bryan Hall absent, the motion passed on a 2-0 vote.
Later in the meeting Treasurer Fuller reported the six-month renewal rate was also offered at 4.4%. Commissioner Rick Lett moved to roll over five CDs (numbers #266200, #266053, #266050, #266048 and #266043) with a six-month maturity at the accepted 4.4% rate. Commissioner Jamey Cope seconded; the motion carried 2-0 with Hall absent.
The minutes record the two commissioners and the county clerk as present and note Hall as absent. The signature block included a duplicate listing of Commissioner Rick Lett and an apparent typographical entry (“RhysHall”); that anomaly is recorded in the minutes but does not affect the outcomes recorded in the meeting.
County offices will be closed Thursday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. The commission is scheduled to reconvene June 23, 2025.
