Presiding Commissioner Bryan Hall, Eastern Commissioner Jamey Cope and Western Commissioner Rick Lett recorded that a FEMA recovery scoping meeting focused on Dead End Lane has taken place and that follow-up meetings are expected in the coming weeks. County Clerk Jessica Cole noted that permit work for the restoration is scheduled to be completed within an 18-month deadline tied to the recovery process.
Corey Collett and Johnathan participated by phone to discuss work through the FEMA Public Assistance Program and next steps for the project. Officials recorded that the emergency repair work, initially planned for a six-month timeframe, has been completed. With FEMA’s cost share now in place, the minutes state the county has begun the formal process of restoring Dead End Lane to its pre-disaster condition with an expressed goal of rebuilding the road in an improved state.
A separate administrative item recorded that a conference call was scheduled with Travis Elliott to address a question regarding a Surplus Tax Property Deed reimbursement; the minutes did not record a decision on that matter at the Aug. 6 meeting.
