At its Jan. 12 meeting the New Milford Town Council approved acceptance of a $137,977.17 Community Education Network grant (Round 2) to expand community Wi‑Fi in partnership with the Board of Education, including planned service extension to Clatter Valley.
The Council also approved routine consent items and donations: a $5,000 Western Connecticut Coalition grant for the Youth Agency to create a 'Zen Den' for youth wellness; library donations of $250 and $200 for materials and programming; a $250 Tractor Supply donation for police community outreach; and $56 collected at the Commission on the Arts' annual Carol Sing. The Council approved appointments and reappointments including Caitlin Patterson as Town Clerk through Nov. 30, 2027, and Zoning Commission reappointments.
All the listed grants, donations and appointments passed unanimously under consent or separate motions where noted.
