Commissioners approve consent items: minutes, bills, transfers, tax-sale property bids and 2026 holiday calendar

Brooks County Commissioners' Court approved routine consent items on Nov. 13, 2025, including multiple sets of regular and special minutes from June–September 2025 and payment of county bills on file. County departments submitted monthly reports which the Court accepted after County Auditor Higinio Garcia Jr. noted some fees were recorded after his report; he reported $756,043.51 in pooled cash.
The Court approved a $7,500 transfer from a miscellaneous account (012-5-0409-9070) to a capital outlay line (012-5-0510-9507) for installation of a sprinkler system. The motion passed unanimously.
Two offers to purchase tax sale properties were accepted. The Court approved the bid for Suit No. 14-02-02057-TX, described as 0.19 acre in the J. M. & L. Chapa Survey, and the bid for Suit No. 16-09-02215-TAX covering Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, Littlefield Addition in the City of Falfurrias. Motions to accept both bids were moved by Commissioner Nora Salinas and passed unanimously.
The Court also approved the 2026 Brooks County Holiday Calendar. These routine items were handled with unanimous votes and recorded as part of the official minutes.
No additional discussion of the property sales or the sprinkler project was recorded in the open meeting minutes.
