Brooks County commissioners approve property sale, award contracts and table employee manual changes

Tax-sale property votes: the court approved an offer of $600 for property listed in Suit No. 07-11-01733-TX (Lot 10, Block T, Maupin Addition, City of Falfurrias) after Sylvia Montemayor presented the bid; the motion (moved by Commissioner Aaron Trevino, seconded by Commissioner Eduardo "Eddie" Garza) passed 4–1 with Commissioner Nora Salinas voting no. A separate offer of $500 for property in Suit No. 1-05-01912-TX (the north one-half of the north one-half of Lot 1, Block G, Rachel Addition) failed on a 2–3 vote (Yes: Judge Eric Ramos and Commissioner Nora Salinas; No: Commissioners Aaron Trevino, Eduardo "Eddie" Garza and Rolando Gutierrez).
Appraisal-district ballot: the court recorded votes of 1,006 for Judge Eric Ramos and 1,006 for Commissioner Rolando Gutierrez for the Brooks County Appraisal District Board of Directors. The transcript notes a person identified there as "Judge Garza" later called to decline a nomination; the record does not clarify that person's office or full identity.
Procurement: the court awarded a one-year fuel-and-lubricant contract to Oil Patch (motion by Commissioner Aaron Trevino, second by Commissioner Eduardo "Eddie" Garza), passing 4–1 (Commissioner Nora Salinas opposed).
