Toms River board moves into closed session for superintendent evaluation and litigation; no public action taken

During a special board meeting on Aug. 5, the Toms River Regional School District board voted to enter executive session to discuss the superintendent’s annual evaluation, legal litigation and related matters allowed under the Open Public Meetings Act.
Moderator (speaker 5) moved to go into closed session; a staff member (speaker 2) seconded the motion and the board responded with 'Aye' on the vote called by the chair. The board then recessed into High School North’s Executive Session Meeting Room to conduct the closed session. Staff reiterated there would be no public action at this meeting.
Prior to the closed session, the board opened a brief public comment period limited to three minutes per speaker by board policy; no public commenters came forward.
