Council narrows E. West St. parking and adopts ordinance allowing tickets in Pinecrest pickup lane

Separately, the council adopted Ordinance 2026-183, described as allowing police to issue tickets in the Pinecrest pickup line where signs alone had not achieved compliance. The ordinance passed unanimously on a motion by Alder Robert Weaver with a second from Alder Michelle Brooks.
Council members said the E. West St. configuration aimed to support local businesses while preserving sight lines for drivers; alder discussion suggested changes to signage and pavement markings would follow.
