Commission finds no adverse impact for generator replacement at 11 Orange Street

At the May 15 meeting the Nantucket Historical Commission reviewed a Section 106 application for a proposed generator replacement at 11 Orange Street (Unitarian Universalist Church) and voted to send a letter stating the commission found no adverse impact.
Chair Rita Carr summarized that the site-specific drawings and an EPI consultant letter were included in the packet and noted a preservation easement on the property held by the town (select board). Commissioners said the replacement unit appeared to be roughly the same size as the existing generator and largely invisible from public vantage points behind the building. "It is completely invisible unless you walk back there," one commissioner said.
A motion to write a letter that the commission "finds no adverse impact" was made and seconded; the motion passed on a voice/roll-call vote. The commission asked staff to draft and send the letter.
What happens next: staff will draft the letter documenting the commission’s finding of no adverse impact and send it to the appropriate reviewing parties.
