Stafford parents told about STEAM night, Invention Convention finalists, esports and performing-arts programs

Stafford Township School District administrators highlighted extracurricular and enrichment opportunities for the 2024–25 school year, noting events and clubs intended to extend learning beyond the school day.
"One of our highlights of our district is our STEAM night," the program host said, describing the family STEAM night that typically takes place in January and the districtInvention Convention that produced finalists at the New Jersey School Boards competition.
Administrators said the district added an esports lab after parent and student interest; staff said Stafford may be among the only elementary districts in Ocean County and one of a few in New Jersey offering an esports program for younger students. "Last year we had a big outcry for Esports so we added an esports lab and now Southern is following suit," the host said.
Performing-arts opportunities at the intermediate school include a four/five musical and a sixth-grade musical; staff praised students and teachers for the high level of production. The principal described Team Challenge, a positive-behavior initiative that groups fifth- and sixth-grade students into mixed teams who earn monthly and yearly rewards based on points for positive behaviors.
The district said enrichment paperwork will be distributed in early September; clubs and programs mentioned include fishing club, 3D printing, choir, band and select ensembles. Parents were advised to return sign-up materials promptly to secure spots.
