Commissioners open bids for Oak Grove–Anderson roundabout; low bid of $1.83M recommended subject to review

County highway staff opened five sealed bids for the Oak Grove and Anderson Road roundabout project at the April 13 meeting. The bidders and amounts read into the record were: Koberstein Contracting $2,057,988.32; YMB Paving $2,019,275.00; BBI $1,991,400.00; Regal $1,901,305.85; and JBI Construction $1,826,968.98.
Highway staff recommended awarding the project to the low bidder, JBI Construction, subject to the consultant (USI Consultants) verifying that the bid is both responsible and responsive. The board moved and approved that conditional award.
Commissioners asked staff to have the consultant and internal reviewers confirm specification compliance and readiness to proceed before a final notice to proceed is issued.
