Commissioners also approved a Terracon access and testing agreement to test interior building materials at an older hospital in Melford for hazardous materials. Initial language mentioning drilling prompted discussion, but Terracon clarified the work would be interior testing only and not the 16-foot drilling referenced in an earlier draft.
The commission additionally ratified several new hires: Chloe Anderson for an office position and Kayla Webster as a dispatcher, and noted an additional open dispatcher position is being advertised. The measures were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Next steps: staff to secure original contract documents, monitor asphalt market prices for the fairgrounds project, execute the Terracon agreement, and continue recruitment for remaining positions.
