The Omaha Public Schools Board approved a one‑year extension of the Schoolinks college‑and‑career platform for grades 6–12 at a cost of $142,583.35, the board voted on May 4.
Brenda Lejadro, the district's supervisor of school counseling, explained Schoolinks helps students develop career interests and maintain a portfolio of evidence tied to the district's "portrait of a graduate" work in freshman seminar classes. "One of the things that we really like about Schoolinks is that it has a portfolio option ... the portfolio within Schoolinks will store the evidence of achievement of that portrait of a graduate," Lejadro said.
Board members had pulled item I‑13 from the consent agenda for clarification; after the staff presentation the board approved the renewal by roll call.
