Rome council establishes 2026 Youth Common Council and approves several routine resolutions

Most of the items were moved, seconded, and carried with little debate. Councilor Darcy/Dersley (speaker name varies in the transcript) thanked City Treasurer Adams for work closing capital projects tied to audits. Councilor Dury moved the amendment to Resolution 62 to add the named youth council members and noted the students had already held an initial meeting.
Separately, Ordinance 9867 — to create a residential planned development district for Nessentia Health’s senior-housing project — was discussed and then tabled and referred to the planning board for review and a public hearing so planning issues can be resolved prior to further council action.
