Egg Harbor Township board reviews three‑year 'Embrace, Engage, Educate' strategic plan and readies July rollout

The Egg Harbor Township Board of Education heard a presentation of the district’s proposed three‑year strategic plan during its June meeting, with Superintendent Dr. Guccio framing the blueprint around three goals: Embrace, Engage and Educate.
Dr. Guccio told the board the plan was developed through stakeholder meetings and surveys beginning in March and refined across multiple sessions. Under the ‘‘Embrace’’ pillar the district proposes to expand social‑emotional (SEL) programming and MTSS supports, strengthen staff capacity with targeted professional development and improve grade‑level transitions to ensure better articulation between buildings.
Under ‘‘Engage’’ the district plans to implement a unified communications platform to deliver timely, accessible messaging across schools and languages; the platform would include translation and accessibility features to address community requests. Dr. Guccio said the district has already met with vendors to centralize messaging.
The ‘‘Educate’’ pillar focuses on academics and infrastructure: a PK–12 digital citizenship curriculum, expanded equitable access to modern devices, data‑driven personalized instruction and a push to modernize aging facilities. Dr. Guccio said a facilities referendum will be discussed next month to fund classroom and infrastructure upgrades and to create flexible, inclusive learning spaces.
Board members were told the plan will serve as the framework for district learning goals and will guide the upcoming budget and implementation timelines. If approved by the board, the plan would be rolled out on July 1.
Dr. Guccio emphasized community involvement in drafting the plan and highlighted that the plan’s priorities — teachers and staff, diversity and culture, and student programs — emerged repeatedly from community input.
The board did not take a recorded final action on the plan during the meeting; Dr. Guccio said the plan was being presented for approval so it could be shared with stakeholders and implemented starting July 1 if the board approves it.
