City staff reports engine crash and duplex structure fire; no injuries reported

Staff reported that engine 47 struck a guardrail and a center concrete wall during heavy rain while responding to a motor vehicle accident; Spartan Fire recovered the mobile data recorder and the manufacturer will analyze the device. Investigation is ongoing.
Separately, crews responded to a structure fire at 102 Cranberry Hill Circle where heavy fire and smoke resulted in two units being a total loss and damage to two adjacent duplex units through radiant heat. Units from Greenville City and Belmont assisted under mutual aid; Boiling Springs and Simpsonville covered other calls while crews were on scene. Fire Marshal Hall was contacted to investigate the cause. Staff said 12–14 residents were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross; there were no injuries or fatalities.
Committee members praised mutual-aid partners and the department's response; staff said they will provide further details when the apparatus data and fire investigation reports are complete.
