Mr. Duncan said the city has a long-standing practice of charging pump-station fees to parcels that use specific pump stations to ensure revenue covers operations and maintenance; staff estimated expenses around $110,000 for the coming fiscal year. Recommended rates discussed included $400/year for Hawk Haven (new), $75 for Adams Glenn (no change), $425 for Riley Trace (a reduction compared with previous figures), $250 for Aaris (reduction), and incremental adjustments for Deer Ridge to bring its charge in line with comparable stations.
The ordinance packet will include a full list of affected parcels and a public hearing will be published for the measure at full council. Committee members moved, seconded and unanimously forwarded the ordinance; staff said the chart in the committee packet will be corrected for typographical errors before council review.
If adopted by council, the fees will be billed annually to parcels that rely on the city-managed pump stations and used to cover the operating and maintenance costs outlined in the staff report.
