Superintendent Dr. Benjamin Edmonson told the Romulus board that city officials from Inkster contacted him about the district’s former Inkster High School property and asked for documentation.
"In 2016, they were deeded the property from this school district. Okay, that's an easy one for me. Okay, it's theirs. It's just that simple to me," Dr. Edmonson said, and he said he would provide the relevant board minutes to Inkster officials. He added he would assist where he could but would not assume financial responsibility for title research.
Dr. Edmonson said district staff located the relevant minutes and offered to share them with Inkster; he suggested a title company or city staff might retrieve the recorded deed if the physical deed could not be found. Trustees welcomed the district’s willingness to support the city’s efforts to obtain documentation.
