CJCC approves TAD application, shifts funding focus to treatment court

At its May 13 meeting, the Sawyer County CJCC voted to approve submission of a Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) pre-application that seeks to prioritize treatment-court funding. Committee staff explained that the pre-application opened May 5 and that the proposal would request $150,000 for treatment court and $100,000 for diversion services.
Staff told members the committee had previously been awarded diversion funding and that treatment court remains constrained by limited local funds; they recommended shifting more of the TAD request to treatment court to support that program’s development. After discussion about prior spending patterns and program needs, a member moved to approve the application; the motion was seconded and carried. A signature page was circulated for committee members.
Committee members also reviewed a Jan. 14 site-visit report that listed recommendations intended to strengthen future grants applications; the treatment-court steering committee will work to implement as many of those recommendations as feasible.
No roll-call tally was read into the record for the TAD vote beyond the chair’s statement that the motion passed and the subsequent circulation of the signature page. The packet materials and the pre-application will be filed with the committee records and used in the official TAD submission.
