The Learner Theater Governing Board on May 13 approved multiple vendor agreements and routine financial items intended to support the theater’s programming and marketing for summer and the 2026 season.
Board members voted to adopt the claims and allowance docket totaling $110,722.73 and to accept the Treasurer’s financial report for the period ending March 31, 2026.
On new business the board approved an engagement letter with an accounting firm listed in the meeting packet as Krugal Lton for ongoing accounting services. The board then approved a master services agreement with local marketing firm Lightbox to produce a 30‑minute television special and additional marketing projects tied to the Learner’s season launch and “Celebration Under the Stars.” Carl Thompson, the Learner’s general manager, said Lightbox will deliver repurposable video content and other assets; the GM asked for authority to execute individual projects under that agreement so long as each stays within the budget previously approved by the City Council in 2025. The board granted that authorization.
The board also approved a $17,500 direct-mail contract with Alpha Graphics to print and mail a 6x9 postcard to 30,000 households to promote upcoming shows and to solicit donations for Friends of the Learner. The payment schedule discussed called for an initial 50% payment in June and the balance in July; postage arrangements and the timing of mailings were explained during discussion.
Finally, the board approved an addendum to the Ticketmaster ticketing agreement to participate in a Ticketmaster beta that offers customers the option to add local hotel bookings to ticket purchases. The program would give the Learner a 20% royalty on net travel-package revenue; board members noted that the actual net revenue impact is currently undetermined because the program is new and the definition of “net” may vary.
The meeting concluded with no public comments and a voice vote adjourning the session.
