"I'm most proud of the fact that I tried different things," the student said. "Whether it's at a sporting event or the drama performances, everyone just shows up and shows out for our school," one attendee said, noting the town is small but turnout at events is large and enthusiastic. Another speaker recalled competing against Western Dubuque in the past and said, "These people... they're the most passionate people there are," and added they are glad to now be part of that community.
A parent reflected on 15 years of family involvement with school activities, saying the experience has been central to family life and describing Western Dubuque as "a special place" that is "beyond words."
