On the proposed superintendent evaluation policy (7805), staff and committee members agreed the subject is already covered in the superintendent contract policy and recommended not adopting the draft 7805; the committee will notify the full board of that recommendation. In another procedural change, committee members recommended altering the petition process in policy 7821 so that employees requesting removal of information from personnel files would first go to the superintendent or a designated HR official rather than directly to the board.
The committee also recommended keeping the existing secret‑recording policy (7337) rather than adopting a longer, more prescriptive proposed alternative (7325), while noting some language tweaks could be added to the current policy if the board wants broader coverage for parents and students.
Most items were forwarded to the full board for first reading by consensus. The committee asked staff to relay the package, notify the full board about items recommended not to adopt, and return on several 7000‑series items with clarified language as needed.
