Board refers pension ordinance to ordinance committee and retirement board after conflicting language discovered

"Our pension ordinance ... is very bulky and is not an easy read," the mayor (speaker 1) said, explaining that two of the town’s seven unions have stronger language in their collective bargaining agreements than what appears in the ordinance. She said the retirement board will pay for any necessary consulting to streamline and fix the ordinance language and that clarified language will be returned for review once the ordinance committee and retirement board complete their work.
The board did not adopt ordinance text at the meeting; it approved referring the issue to the ordinance committee and to the retirement board for correction and clarification.
