Committee members and staff reported that a circuit breaker tripped multiple times during warm weather and, when it happened, the radio system lost power and some door programming reverted, requiring reprogramming. Staff member (S6) said an adjustment to one labeled breaker held for about a week but members asked for a notification mechanism and proposed short weekly check-ins while contractors complete remaining work.
Staff (S6) briefed the committee on a set of operational items: lighting-night-mode issues that briefly ramped switches to full brightness, HVAC balancing problems in an interior, windowless room (Room 8), bent and worn door guides that will be replaced, and crack-seal/expansion-joint follow-up. Chair (S1) confirmed hydroseeding was completed earlier that day.
On the radio issue, staff noted that because the bay doors and the radio system are on the same circuit, a trip can take radios offline and remove certain door timers or programming; that has required on-site reprogramming after failures. Members discussed whether the radio should be on a separate dedicated circuit to avoid losing communications when a breaker trips. Staff said they will look into the circuit configuration and follow up with the contractor.
The committee agreed to ask staff and the contractor to monitor systems closely during the next heat spell, to consider infrared or diagnostic testing if breaker trips recur, and to provide the committee brief updates until the outstanding items are remedied. An overhead-door training session was scheduled the following day.
