Fire Chief (agency official) said, "May 2 at 10 a.m. is gonna be the ribbon cutting," and added the department will publicize the event as 10 a.m. to noon to make it convenient for visitors.
Chief told commissioners crews resolved a factory-set breaker that had been tripping and noted that overhead doors and the radio system were on the same circuit; staff are planning to put the radios on a dedicated circuit to prevent future outages. He also described outstanding IT work: dispatch monitors require a computer component to link displays so the team can see all dispatches.
Landscaping and hydroseeding were completed and the chief said contractors cleaned up residual debris. Commissioners praised the finished facility and discussed staffing coverage during the event, with the chief confirming the station company will be temporarily out of service for the public event while other crews remain available for calls.
The commission did not take formal votes beyond acknowledging the report. The department said the station should serve the city for decades and that minor punch-list items will be completed before full operational testing and routine use.
