Board delays decision on digital pylon sign proposal at 148th St NW, seeks Township input

Planner Aaron Ogle described the property and noted prior approvals on the site dating to the 1990s and 2000s. The applicant asked for a variance to place a digital pylon sign at the right-of-way line for 148th St NW; county code requires a 30-foot setback. Applicant representatives said they are reviewing where the road and Interstate right-of-way lines fall and said the sign edge (not necessarily the post) would be at the setback line for visibility to traffic. There were no written public responses in the record at the time of the meeting.
The board took a brief recess to review a voicemail indicating the township will hear the proposal the following week; members said they prefer to receive township input before acting. Member Dan Vick moved to continue the item to May 15; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
