Rockledge CRA approves $47,272.75 in façade improvement grants for three projects

The Rockledge Community Redevelopment Agency on March 25 approved façade improvement grants totaling $47,272.75 for three local projects.
Community Development Director John Cooper presented each application and staff recommendations. Marjorie Evans, authorized agent for Baci at 760 Barnes Boulevard (#108–#110), sought funding to replace the face of three existing signs; the total project cost was $4,191.50 and the agency approved a $2,095.75 grant, with a Sept. 30, 2026 completion deadline. Commissioner David Bucher moved to approve and Commissioner Frederick “Rick” Sanders seconded; the motion carried 6-0.
Ralph McCoig, authorized agent for Carolina Pines Communities LLC at 807 Angela Avenue, requested $18,777.00 toward exterior improvements including new landscaping, sod, sidewalk work, parking-lot repairs and restriping. McCoig passed photos to the board and introduced leasing agent/property manager Carolina Montoya. The board approved the $18,777.00 grant (total project cost: $37,554.00) on a 6-0 vote after a motion by Commissioner Adam Copenhaver and second by Commissioner Marti Rich.
Carlos Zovich, authorized agent for CAZ Reality LLC at 400 Barton Boulevard, proposed interior and exterior work. Chosen lower quotes were $13,000 for interior work (applicant requested $6,500.00) and $39,800 for exterior work (applicant requested $19,900.00). The board approved grants of $6,500.00 (interior) and $19,900.00 (exterior) on a 6-0 vote; staff set a Sept. 30, 2026 completion date for the project.
Director Cooper reported $184,453.25 in façade grants in progress and $74,335.00 completed so far in fiscal year 2026. The board took the approvals as individual motions during the new-business portion of the meeting.
