Students honored for art and leadership at Franklin County school board meeting

The board recognized elementary and high‑school students for art achievements and named Christian Davis the senior scholar of the month; several students were selected to represent the division in regional competitions.
At the May 11 meeting the board recognized student achievement in the arts and student leadership. Presenters named elementary students selected as 'artist of the month' and announced division representatives to the Virginia School Boards Association regional art contest.
Mrs. Robinson introduced Glade Hill and Liam Wade student honorees and invited Mrs. Sloan Lang to present brief remarks about the selected students. The board also introduced the division’s student board representatives and invited one to share reflections about the experience.
Christian Davis, Franklin County High School senior, was introduced as the senior scholar of the month and described his involvement in the marching band and other extracurricular activities. "I just wanna thank y'all for this opportunity," Davis said.
Trustees congratulated the students and encouraged community attendance at the division art show and upcoming recognition events.
