Farwell council adopts overtime and backup policies and approves four vendor payments

The Village Council of the Village of Farwell approved several administrative policies and vendor payments during its Dec. 15, 2025 meeting, including an overtime-pay amendment and a village backup policy.
President Tracey Jackson presided as Trustee Amanda Pfruender moved to adopt the Dec. 15, 2025 amendment to the employee handbook related to overtime pay; Trustee Gina Hamilton seconded and the council conducted a roll-call vote in which all members present voted in favor. Trustee Shawn Burger moved to adopt the Village of Farwell Backup Policy; Trustee Gina Hamilton seconded and the motion passed on a roll-call vote with all yeas.
The council also voted to request proposals for auditing services for the 2025–2026 fiscal year after Trustee Victoria Williams made the motion, seconded by Trustee Amanda Pfruender. That motion carried without a recorded roll-call breakdown in the minutes.
Council approved four payments to the engineering firm Fleis & Vandenbrink: $8,500 for invoice 75019 (motion by Trustee Gina Hamilton; second, Trustee Amanda Pfruender), $15,000 for invoice 74707 (motion by Trustee Amanda Pfruender; second, Trustee Gina Hamilton), $31,133.38 for invoice 74709 (motion by Trustee Gina Hamilton; second, Trustee Victoria Williams), and $12,395.84 for an invoice listed in the minutes as 755513 (motion by Trustee Victoria Williams; second, Trustee Gina Hamilton).
