Trustee Gina Hamilton reported the council had begun obtaining quotes for tree removal and trimming in the village park and indicated the village would explore a DTE grant to fund replacement tree plantings. Trustees agreed to delay purchase and planting decisions until removal work is completed and quotes are finalized.
The council also requested updates on the DWSRF water project, discussed creating a formal policy for streaming meetings, and noted an invoice for a recent watermain break has been sent. President Tracey Jackson briefly mentioned a new party-supply business opening in the former Rite-Aid building as a local economic-development note. Commissioner Gross, in extended public comment, said the county is evaluating whether to continue Zoom for county board meetings.
