Burnet County commissioners unanimously approve routine consent items, hires, donations and contracts

In a unanimous 5–0 series of votes on Nov. 25, 2025, the Burnet County Commissioners Court approved a package of routine items: a resolution honoring an Eagle Scout, board reappointments and CAPCOG dues, several donations and grants, a DA hire authorization, multiple interlocal contracts and inspections, fleet and abatement contracts, and routine financial reports and transfers.
The Burnet County Commissioners Court on Nov. 25, 2025 unanimously approved a package of routine business items, including recognitions, reappointments, donations, contracts, and authorizations for hiring and procurement.
The court adopted a Resolution of Appreciation honoring Eagle Scout candidate Thomas Ryan McAnally for his work at the Historic Stringtown Cemetery after comments from Lela Gore and McAnally. The court also approved several board reappointments (including Emergency Services District #2 and #3) and authorized payment of CAPCOG membership fees not to exceed $2,786.10, with a clerical correction recorded to one appointee’s name (Sharon Barclay). Other routine approvals included acceptance of a check from the Lower Colorado River Authority not to exceed $500 to support a hazardous household waste event and a $1,500 donation from Ascent Aerosystems to the Sheriff’s discretionary fund, as well as a $12,600 donation from the Friends of the Spicewood Library for a Ladd and Katherine Hancher Library Foundation grant.
The court approved authorization for the District Attorney’s Office to hire an experienced law enforcement officer at Step 6 at a salary not to exceed $82,180.80. It directed the county auditor to issue a Request for Qualifications under Texas Local Government Code 2254.003 for professional engineering services related to transportation planning and development of a Transportation Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan and Program (CIPP).
The court authorized transfer of specified Burnet County Sheriff’s Office vehicles to auction, approved an Advanced Funding Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (AFA) for voluntary local contributions to transportation projects in an amount not to exceed $300,000, and approved several interlocal agreements and contracts: acceptance of Herman Brown Free Library utility credits not to exceed $13,175 and a contribution not to exceed $7,500 from the City of Burnet; a Johnson Controls contract for annual fire alarm and sprinkler inspection not to exceed $4,191.37; an interlocal with the City of Meadowlakes to assist with hot mix asphalt application in an amount not to exceed $15,000; and an interlocal with Burnet County ESD 8 to assist with a hotmix overlay on the ESD 8 helipad not to exceed $15,000.
The court approved a roll-call lease agreement with East Texas Mack Buy Back Program for an additional 2026 Mack GR64F dump truck for Road and Bridge Precinct 3; the minutes record the roll-call 'Aye' votes and the motion passed 5–0. The court also approved execution of a contract with AAR, Inc. for asbestos and lead abatement at 127 E Jackson (project previously approved under Bid 26-4090-01). Karrie Crownover presented the Burnet County Treasurer’s monthly report for October 2025, which the court approved, and the court approved intra-departmental line item transfers and authorization for payment of claims previously approved by the county auditor. The meeting concluded with routine calendar review and adjournment at 10:02 a.m.
