Tift County to place engineering contract for OneGeorgia disaster grant and one-year public defender agreement on Feb. 9 consent agenda

At the Feb. 3 Tift County work session, County Manager Jim Carter told commissioners that two items would be placed on the Feb. 9 regular meeting consent agenda.
Carter said an agreement with Watkins & Associates LLC is needed to provide engineering services related to the county's OneGeorgia Hurricane Disaster Recovery Grant and that the agreement is in a form acceptable to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. Separately, Carter said State Court Judge Herbert Benson requested the board enter into another one-year contract with attorney John Mobley to provide indigent defense services in State Court and the Tift County DUI Court.
The board expressed its preference to put both matters on the Feb. 9 consent agenda. No formal vote or contract approvals were recorded at the Feb. 3 work session; both items will appear for formal action at the Feb. 9 regular meeting.
