City wins $2 million for trail connection; $10 million biosolids request moves to appropriations committees

Sandy also reported that the city's $10,000,000 funding request for phase 1 of a BPU biosolids project—submitted via Congressman Stauber and Senators Tina Smith and Amy Klobuchar—has advanced to the appropriations committees. He said staff and consultants are considering a trip to Washington, D.C., to lobby for federal appropriations for biosolids and other large infrastructure projects including water treatment plant planning and future wastewater improvements.
Council received the updates and expressed support for pursuing available funding opportunities.
