Resident urges cleanup and fee refund over stormwater discharge into backyards

Bollig said he had discussed the situation with city engineer staff and that a previous staff report included several recommendations, one of which he said was effectively to do nothing. He outlined lower-cost alternatives he would like staff to examine, including installing a French drain or extending an existing drain to a nearby holding pond by the college football field. Bollig also said heavy rains leave leaves and sticks behind “up to wherever the water line went,” forcing him to spend several hours on cleanup after storms.
Council members did not debate the specifics in public forum. The council acknowledged Bollig’s request and closed the public forum; no immediate directive or vote appears on the record to reimburse fees or mandate a particular remedy. The council may address the matter through staff direction or a future agenda item.
