Burleson County commissioners unanimously approve HomeWAV renewal, Chilifest permit, generator funding and tax-collection addendum

The Burleson County Commissioners Court met in special session in Caldwell on March 31, 2026, and unanimously approved four routine items, including a multi-year renewal of the county's jail communications contract and a permit for a large public event.
The court approved renewal of the jail communications agreement with HomeWAV, LLC through Aug. 30, 2030, with the contract described in the minutes as "at no cost to the County." Commissioner Vincent Svec moved the renewal; Commissioner Dwayne Faust seconded. The motion carried on a recorded formula of "All voted Aye. None voted No." (5-0)
The court next approved a mass-gathering permit for the 2026 Chilifest event. Commissioner Vincent Svec moved the permit; Commissioner Robert "Bobby" Urbanosky seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Commissioners also approved acceptance of Division of Emergency Management funding for the Burleson County Courthouse generator project. The minutes list a county match of $257,581.80 and a total projected project cost of $544,324.05; the approval was conditioned on resolving unspecified IRS penalties. Commissioner David Hildebrand made the motion; Commissioner Vincent Svec seconded. The motion passed on a unanimous vote.
Finally, the court approved an addendum to the county's delinquent property tax collection contract with Perdue, Fielder, Collins and Mott LLC to add services related to tax sales. Commissioner David Hildebrand moved the addendum; Commissioner Dwayne Faust seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
All four substantive motions were recorded in the minutes as passing by unanimous voice or recorded formula. Commissioner David Hildebrand moved to adjourn; Commissioner Vincent Svec seconded, and the court adjourned.
