The Taylor County Board of County Commissioners on Nov. 18 voted to install Commissioner English as chair and Commissioner Demps as vice chair for the 2025–26 term.
At the start of the meeting the clerk opened nominations for chair. Commissioner Fiegel nominated Commissioner English; no other nominations were offered. The board then voted unanimously to elect English as chair.
The clerk followed the same procedure for vice chair. Commissioner Fiegel nominated Commissioner Demps; no other nominations were made and the board voted to elect Demps by majority vote.
The actions were taken under the board’s standard organizational procedures for annual officer elections. No amendments or objections were recorded during either nomination. The newly elected officers will carry out their duties for the coming year; commissioners said routine organizational business, including committee assignments and rules of procedure, will be addressed in subsequent agenda items.
The board proceeded to other business after completing the officer elections.
