Burleson County court approves fiber work, paving award and a wide set of community and infrastructure measures

The Burleson County Commissioners Court met March 9, 2026, and unanimously approved a package of motions spanning broadband, road and drainage work, event permitting and community cleanup programs. County Judge Keith Schroeder and the four precinct commissioners voted Aye on every recorded motion.
The court approved Phase 3 of Nexstream Fiber after a motion by Commissioner Vincent Svec seconded by Commissioner Bobby Urbanosky. The court also approved two Frontier Communications installation projects (Project #5324051 covering County Roads 267, 268, 279 and part of County Road 265; Project #5324045 covering the remainder of County Road 265) on a motion by Svec, seconded by Urbanosky.
The court accepted a voluntary fence relocation agreement with Maass Real Estate Holdings, LLC for fence work at the County Road 244 Deep Creek Bridge (motion by Svec, seconded by Urbanosky). It adopted the Racial Profiling Report for Constable Precinct 3 and approved a Continuation Certificate on the original bond for Robert Glenn Campbell as Deputy Constable, Precinct 3 (motions by David Hildebrand, seconded by Dwayne Faust).
Mass gathering permits for Blowout Bikers Productions and the 2026 Bike MS were approved (motion by Urbanosky, seconded by Svec). The court authorized Road & Bridge Precinct 3 crews to remove trees, regrade and add RAP material to parking areas for the future Burleson Health Resource Center, and approved paying overtime for jailers for March. The sheriff reported staffing openings—three patrol positions, one dispatcher and two jailer positions—and a jail population of 56 (41 males, 15 females).
On public-works contracting, the court selected Brazos Paving, Inc. in accordance with Bleyl Engineering’s recommendation for RFP 2026012601, tied to GLO CDBD-MIT Contract #24065-057-E567; the total award with alternates is $314,750.00 (motion by Svec, seconded by Urbanosky).
The court adopted a resolution regarding the use of security cameras during voting (motion by David Hildebrand, seconded by Vincent Svec), amended the 2004 Keep Burleson County Beautiful (KBCB) Commission rules and appointed five members to the KBCB commission, and approved the county’s participation in regional cleanup initiatives and a schedule of spring clean & recycling events.
